Honoring our Military for Memorial Day

"Without memory, there is no culture. Without memory there would be no civilization, no society, no future."

- Elie Wiesel

Memorial Day is so much more than the official opening of summer. It is a day that our country has dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of the men and women who have died in uniform, protecting our freedoms. As we gather with friends and family this weekend, we will be carrying these fallen heroes, as well as our veterans and active service members, in our hearts.

I believe it is appropriate to mention here that we are following with great interest the progress of the Fairly Assessing Service-related Exposure Residual (FASTER) Presumptions Act - a bill introduced by Maryland Congressman David Trone to help veterans exposed to toxic substances during their service get access to their VA disability benefits faster. Since September 11, 2001, countless service members have been exposed to environmental hazards and other toxic substances from burn pits, radiation, and cleanup.  We wish him success in modernizing the VA’s claim systems so that our heroes can claim their benefits promptly.

Please enjoy a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend. Our offices will be closed until Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM. If you need us, please access the contact us page on our website.
