Gary Altman, Esq. is the Founder and Principal Attorney of the estate planning law firm, Altman & Associates, where he has been serving the Washington metropolitan area, practicing law since 1980 and estate planning since 1988.

As an industry leader, Gary has taught various estate planning courses to attorneys, accountants, and financial planners. He is currently on the board of Hope Connections for Cancer Support and serves on the investment company of two local charities. Gary has previously served as the President of the National Capital Area Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and the National Capital Chapter of the Society for Financial Service Professionals. In 2013, Gary was appointed to be the chair of the DC Taxicab Commission and as the chair of the DC Traffic Adjudication Appeals Board. In 2015, he was a member of Leadership Montgomery’s Core Program.
Gary resides with his wife Elizabeth and their two Labrador retrievers. He enjoys spending his free time playing racket sports, reading, gardening, and restoring his pre-civil war historic home in Potomac, Maryland. Gary is a wine aficionado and enjoys BBQing and making homemade brick oven pizzas for friends and colleagues.
