For the past several winters, my wife, Liz, and I have taken a cruise to the Caribbean in order to get out of the cold and recharge our batteries. This year, for a change of pace, we went to beautiful island of St. Thomas, US Virgin Island for a few days of sun and relaxation. Not only did we sleep on the beach and by the pool, we went to a few fabulous restaurants and met some wonderful people. Having frequented this lovely island several times, we couldn’t wait to go back to our favorite Italian restaurant, Romano’s, where the owner is a cook, artist, musician and now makes his own lemoncello. I ate one of the best veal chops I have ever had, we enjoyed a great bottle of wine from Sicily, and Liz’s pasta meal was incredible. The next evening we took a catamaran, The Lady Lindsey, to the Island of St. John’s where we shared another incredible meal at ZoZo’s. Our third night was an adventure at the Old Farm Stonehouse, an old sugar plantation, where we enjoyed a cocktail with friends, George and his lovely wife, the owner of our favorite jewelry store, the House of Rajah. We sat down to a great meal that included a wild boar chop and tuna, with a delightful dessert finish to music in the courtyard. Our last night was spent at our hotel, where we joined with 40 or 50 other guests, to watch the Super Bowl outside on big televisions with the ocean, beach and palm trees in the background. What a great way to watch Eli Manning win his second Super Bowl.
